I love the steady rhythmic beat in Wilson’s translation. I love the use of words and phrases like ‘scalawag’ and ‘keep mum’. Wilson presents a different perspective on The Odyssey, one that better highlights the ambiguity and role of women in the story, and entirely accepts contemporary language and the simplicity of the original text.
