The Man Who Solved the Market: How Jim Simons Launched the Quant Revolution

Gregory Zuckerman | 2019 | ★★☆☆☆
Read: September 7, 2024

Lots of fun tidbits for those working in the quant fund space: sharpe ratios; struggling to work with different instruments; data products used. Plagued by mediocre writing though, characters are introduced and often given one or two tidbits to explain their overarching motives, as if that were enough. Sometimes fawning too. Most interesting to read how unsuccessful RenTech was in its beginnings and its struggle to expand into equitiies and the relationship between Brown and Mercer.
