Absolutely bizarre in how it swings from insulting what seems like every academic I’ve ever heard of, to musing about authors' libraries, to trying to write speech in some kind of malformed Brooklyn dialect. The Black Swan is great fun, to read lightly, to read deeply. If only all ‘philosophical essays’ could feature a ‘Fat Tony’ and instructions to lock Nobel prize winning economists in a retirement home with nothing but an enormous book of Sudoku.
